Traffic Tips: How To Get 200 Visitors A Day To A New Blog Starting From Scratch
Today during the King of Blogging coaching Q&A call Gaj put me on spot and asked me how he can attract 200 people a day to a new blog starting from scratch in 24hours or less. This cannot be a one time activity. He wants to attract 200 people a day there after everyday. This has to be FREE traffic and he only plans to spend an hour a day.
I confessed, I have never attracted 200 readers to a fresh new blog in my life. May be some day I will do it, but so far I have not done it.
I made the disclaimer and answered this question to the best of my knowledge and experience.
Here are the steps..again they are not in any manner or oder.
First I would List my Blog on the top 10 blog directories. Here is a small list
Then I would find a bunch of blogs in my niche that do not have NO FOLLOW enabled. To do this I would find a bunch of related keywords and do a search for them in google. Then I would take all the sites that google returns(3 pages down) and then check to see if they have an Alexa ranking of less than 500,000( the lesser is better depending on the niche you are in)
Then for each site I will check if they have No Follow enabled. To do that you can use the following URL http://www.easyseoscripts.com/demos/no-follow/
Go to that URL just put the website address and it will tell you if the blog is using no follow or not.
For every blog that is using “Do Follow” or Not using “NO FOLLOW” I would scan through each and every post and make sincere, genuine comments mentioning my website URL.
Then I would do the same thing in forums. Find Forums that do not use No Follow and make a bunch of comments.
Trust me this is a very powerful technique to get a lot of traffic.
Now if I have a few dollars to spare, I will make a press release, create a paid advertisement on Stumbleupon.com and try some pay-per-click options.
The other best place to get some free traffic is BlogCarnival.com. If you have a blog with a bunch of posts you can visit BlogCarnival.com and submit each post to a bunch of carnivals. This is a powerful source for traffic.
Finally a blog without much content is useless. Unless you have enough content, there is no point of driving traffic to it. Lack of good design and lack of content will increase the bounce rates. People will leave your site quickly and will never come back.
The whole idea behind traffic to a blog is that you want readers, optins, customers, affiliate sales if not anything else then a couple of Thumbs Ups. So just getting traffic is not enough. You need traffic that is decisive, responsive and rabid
