Most loyal readers of the blog ask me, how much money I make from the 125X125 ads that I run on the right panel of this blog?

My answer: Very less or negligible. The next question usually I get is: How do you make money from this blog?

My answer: By writing Product Reviews.

You see product reviews are a great way to promote affiliate products. One way or the other The entire “Make Money Blogging” industry thrives on this. Yet the Irony is, most bloggers struggle with it for some reason or the other.

Most bloggers rely on daily inspirations, hooks and anchors to create content. There is nothing wrong with this approach but imagine competing with top blogs in the world where volume, frequency and consistency are as critical as quality of the posts.

You have great ideas but do you struggle to come up with a right format to express them on your blog? This is the number one reason why most good ideas never graduate from the “Draft” state to “Published” state.

If great bloggers like Gina Tripani, Scoble and Guy Kawasaki would open up their un-published “draft” posts for a small membership fee, would you pay to read them?

I would in a blink.

You need a system or a method in place using which you can quickly transform your ideas into consumable content. I like product review format, becuase its a format that lends itself for content filling. Effectively systematizing your content creation process

For example lets talk about Mass Control which is re-releasing today.

    • What is Mass Control?
    • How to use it
    • The feature of the Mass Control?
    • Core Benefits of Mass Control?
    • Mass Control 1.0 vs Mass Control 2.0?

You see right there you got a structure going. All you have to do is replace “Mass Control?” with any product name you are trying to promote.

In other words all you had to do is, for every product you are trying to promote on you blog you have answer a few questions in the following order.

    • What is this product
    • What are the Features?
    • What are the Benefits?
    • What is people’s opinion?
    • Where can you find the product cheap(in addition to your affiliate link)
    • Should you buy a warranty
    • Why this product is different from the rest?
    • Who are competitors and what are their strengths?.
    • What are the weaknesses of this product and how to overcome them?
    • Suggestions and recommendations to the manufacturer

And many more.. I will leave it to your imagination.

The last one “Suggestion and Recommendation” is a powerful concept. Imgaine buying a product early, testing all the features and providing your own suggestions and improvements that you would like to be incorporated into the product in the future releases on your own blog.

Suggest a few to Frank Kern.. If you dare :) -

That’s invaluable don’t you think.

I’m sure no matter who reads you blog or not. The craetor of the product will. In case of “Mass Control” its Frank Kern.

The bottom line is, content structure is sometimes important than the content itself.

A Side Note on Reviews: If your review comes out of weak, you probably would never accomplish what you were set out for in the first place. It has happened to me in the past and it continues to happen to me even today. Don’t fake reviews. Buy a product, use it for yourself first and share your experiences. There after no matter how good or bad your review turns out to be, it’s real. That’s what matters

The key to avoiding writers block and creating good flowing content is to create a structure first and “product review format” inherently enables that.

If you wisely choose the products to review(ones that have mass hysteria or are in news), you can attract a lot of traffic from the buzz. There is a reason why I mentioned Mass Control to illustrate this concept( to see how much traffic I get to this post mentioning “Mass Control” and “Frank Kern” 20 times).

You can apply the same concept to existing or old products also.

DISCLAIMER: This post was not paid for by Frank Kern and I’m not a customer of Mass Control, There are no affiliate links to buy Mass Control on this post either. If I ever write a review of “Mass Control” stay assued I will be using it for myself before rambling about it.
