Positioning Critical To Niche Marketing Dominance
How many times you are told that making money online is all about finding hungry markets and tapping into them with products, services and solutions. And how many times have you tried desperately only to give up at the end.
You see finding profitable markets is not difficult at all. Thanks to magazines.com, ebay.com, amazon.com and bunch of other keyword research tools this process has become increasingly easier.
But.. Its hard to find niches these days that have not been discovered by others or are not being exploited yet. The fact is no matter where you operate and how you operate competition is a must.
You can certainly overcome the competition with reduced pricing, discounted offers but only for a limited time, before someone from somewhere like you comes from behind and overtakes you.
Nobody has sustained the price war for ever and nobody will. So given that, The way to overcome competition is to somehow create the same thing that others are offering, in your own way and offer it in your unique style.
-
For example, do you think there were a million “how to make money online” blogs before I started this blog.
The answer is YES.
Did more “how to make money online” sites surface after this blog? the answer is a bigger YES.
Are they doing better than this blog. The answer is even a bigger YES.
But am I in competition with all of them one site against 2 million sites?. The answer is NO and that is why I survive.
Let me explain:
Readers of this site want to learn how to make money online, hence they read this blog. As a result of their reading they may get some ideas that they want to verify or research upon, for which in turn they end up going to other blogs in the same “make money online” niche.
Do I attract visitors to this blog in the same manner? indeed I do.
How do I differentiate?
My offers are different, my communication style is different, my way of treating my readers is different and everything else for that matter.
As you see positioning is critical. This blog is positioned as increasingly unique, more capable, more professional as a consequence it would become more appealing in the market place.(that’s the hope)
So you can get into extremely competitive niches and start dominating them provided you take time and patience on your side.
