Internet marketing- Death Knell For The Sales Professional
Beware all you sales guys! The Internet is steadily making inroads into your livelihood. Just stop and think! Who would want to pay for services that are no longer needed? With more and more websites, selling products and services at the click of a button, as I see it, there is no need to employ any sales people to oversee sales of the products or even go after customers. The World Wide Web is putting an end to it.
Why should any company that is selling its products through the internet, pay to employ sales people when it is actually the internet combined with search engines that are doing the job of finding customers for them?
A company has to spend a lot of money in training its sales force. Selling through the Internet does not require the selling skills of any smooth talking sales chappie. Come to think of it. You would actually benefit if you do away with the sales personnel when you sell through the Internet.
When you hire a guy to sell your product, you actually have to dole out some money to train him. You also have to pay him a salary and a percentage of your profits.
You would also need to take your sales guys on junkets to exotic places in appreciation for their sales efforts when it is actually the Internet and the Search engines that have worked for you. You have to pay them bonus and stuff like that.
If the sales guys were not employed in your company any more, think about what a lot of moolah you would be saving in the bargain. The moolah you can save in this manner can then be passed on to your customers in the form of lowering the cost of the products you are selling.
That would make many happy customers and many unhappy competitors. Now that is food for thought. Actually it makes good economic sense. As an aside, think of all those colleges that train people for a career in sales. They would have to close down, as there would be no takers for their courses!
