Secret To Getting Ahead As A Blogger: Pour Good Content Into Your Brain

Often Times people ask me “what do I do to come up with so much content”. Where do I get my ideas, What are the triggers, What are some of the inspirations and motivations?

Inspiration is something that comes when you engage yourself in the process. The big problem is a lot of bloggers and content producers do not engage themselves in the process properly.

Let me explain..

The only way that you can contribute good content is if you engage yourself in listening and consuming other’s good content.

If you have been around for a while you know the saying ‘garbage in is garbage out’. If your input is wrong then your output will certainly be wrong. There is a chance that you can put right input and get wrong output – that’s always a possibility, but then if your input is wrong your output will always be wrong.

To produce good content you have to pour others good content into your own brain. Explaining in simple terms anything that goes through your ears and eyes into your brain will comeback from your brain through your mouth or through your hands.

The way I put good content through my eyes and through my ears is as following.

#1 I subscribe to other RSS feeds. Just about 1000 feeds. In fact I am freeing more of my time to read more blogs. The plan it to subscribe to 3000 RSS feeds by the end of next year. Again not for the sake of subscribing, but for truly reading and processing the content.

#2. I listen to a lot of podcasts. Every month I recieve about 7 audio CD’s from various subscriptions. I make every efforts to listen to them and usually complete them in about 30days or so, before my next set arrives.

#3. Read Retain Repeat. I also read a lot of books. The idea is to retain content for longer time on a continual basis. I spread my time between strategies and techniques equally. Sometimes I get exicted when I hear a new technqiue on making money online.

Over the years I have learned to understand and practice sound principles for making money online. Despite that, ocassionally one or two product launches crank me up.

The bottom line is motivation to create good content comes from consuming good content and good bloggers engage in listening, learning and reading from as many sources as they can.
